Robyn Marsack
Robyn Marsack was born and grew up in Wellington, New Zealand. After taking her BA at Victoria University, she went to Oxford, where she read for a B.Phil and then a D.Phil in English Literature, and was a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College. She joined Carcanet Press in 1982, and became Editorial Manager and later a director of the firm. When her husband was appointed to Glasgow University in 1987, they moved north and she worked as a freelance editor, translator (from French) and critic, publishing studies of Louis MacNeice and Sylvia Plath, and reviewing poetry regularly for Scotland on Sunday. She took up the post of Director of the Scottish Poetry Library in January 2000, and lives in Glasgow with her husband and young daughter.
