Evelyn Hood
Author of 35 published novels and
also a former journalist, Evelyn Hood is best known for family sagas,
set mainly in her hometown of Paisley (Renfrewshire) and on the Clyde
coast. She is also the author of FORWARD BY DEGREES, a
history of the University of Paisley commissioned to mark the
university's centenary as a place of further education, and of MILL
MEMORIES, a collection of interviews with men and women who worked

During her time as a journalist Evelyn wrote features and news stories
as well as a woman's page. She has also published six one-act stage
plays which are regularly performed all over the world, mainly in drama
festivals, a Scottish pantomime, a children's musical, and a number of
short stories and articles. Unpublished but performed stage work

and a collection of monologues and sketches. An adjudicator, lecturer
and tutor on most aspects of writing, Evelyn also runs workshops in
