Welcome to the Club
Founded 50 years ago, Ayr Writers’ Club is one of the biggest and most successful writing groups in Scotland.
Whether you have never written before, or are a published author, new members and visitors (£3) are always welcome. Why not try a couple of nights – browse the 2020/21 Programme – pick out your favourite evenings.
Writing for Pleasure – and Profit!
Would you like to see your work in print, broadcast on radio or television, performed in the theatre, or made into a film?
I joined the club to learn how to tell my story in writing, but I found more than that. I found support, friendship, inspiration, motivation and even a trophy and a book deal!

What the club offers
The club offers a variety of speakers, workshops and feedback nights. All types of writing are covered by our many published and successful members. There are club competitions adjudicated by experienced writers in their field. Members are also invited to attend the 2-night Scottish Association of Writers’ Conference Weekend in March, held at the Hilton Hotel, Cumbernauld.
We also offer, by the way – friendship, fun and plenty of laughs – at no extra cost!
