Margaret Skea was our terrific Guest Speaker on A Sense of Place back in November 2015.
With an impressive three historical novels under her belt, she returns to Irvine as a special guest at this weekend’s Tidelines Book Festival. (Saturday 28th September, 2.30-3.30pm, Harbour Arts Centre, KA12 8PZ). Tickets are priced at £6 and can be purchased from Tidelines Box Office on 01294 274059.
Margaret’s novels are of particular interest to us here in Ayrshire, as the series relates the “vendetta” between the Montgomeries and the Cunninghams, across the landscape of 16th century Ayrshire.
Margaret’s latest release, Katharina Fortitude, sequel to Deliverance (Runner-up Historical Novel Society Award 2018), is now available.
“Behind even a great (sometimes noisy, fractious) man, there is often a quietly strong, more amenable, woman. Margaret Skea’s deep research and empathy brings alive one of those. If you like your historical fiction truthful and complex, then this novel about Katharina Luther is for you.” – Sarah Dunant
