Ayr Writers’ Club stalwarts, Fiona Aitchinson, Helena Sheridan, Janice Johnstone and Greta Yorke, four members of the acclaimed LiterEight writing group, were recently invited to speak at the local Guild of Holy Trinity Church, Cumnock.
Sharing a broad selection of their writing and performing talents with an enthusiastic and welcoming guild audience, their twist-in-the-tale fictions, children’s stories, poetry, and a sparky humorous sketch, went down a treat.
“Formed in 2011, the group of 8 local authors, hence the name, LiterEight, have all won various literary awards over their various writing careers and have since published 4 books of their collective works. ”

In their own words,
“LiterEight is a group of eight writers, all of whom live in Robert Burns country, Ayrshire, on the south west coast of Scotland. Some of us were born here; others have made it their home for many years. Like most writers, we have all been scribbling away for years while dealing with life challenges, families and careers. Each has her own favourite genre but the ethos of Ayr Writers’ Club – where we all met – is to hone writing skills in many different fields.” ~ LiterEight website
