AYR WRITERS’ MEMBERS IN AYRSHIRE MAGAZINE

  • by

Explore Irvine – September/October Issue 051

We are delighted that Ayrshire Magazine again features three members of AYR WRITERS CLUB.

Linda Brown continues to inspire readers with accounts of interesting walks, this time – on page 130 – with her piece called A River Irvine Ramble. Her second article this month, looks forward to Tidelines Book Festival, in the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine. The event has now happened and proved a wonderful celebration of the 10th anniversary of this festival. You can read this piece on page 32.

Hi Ho Sylvie, Sheila A Grant’s column on page 138, gives an account of her exploration, and exploits, as she heads off in her campervan from Aviemore first to Huntly, before taking in many wonderful locations and concluding this adventure in Ballater.

Finally, on page 30, Suzy A Kelly reveals the origins of the scheduled monument, SEAGATE CASTLE, Irvine, from the twelve century onwards. The piece entitled UN UNSEELIE TOUR OF SEAGATE CASTLE, is told in Scots, which adds a wonderful layer of realism to the unfolding tale.
