As the last few hours of 2024 tick tock away, we raise a glass and toast our members’ recent achievements.

Congratulations to Marion Husband! Marion has published her third children’s picture book – the charming Is This The Way to Brodie Castle?  The book has been beautifully illustrated by fellow AWC member, Maggie Bolton.

Damaris West has excelled once again. She has had three poems published this month –

Hawthorn  in Highland Park Poetry, online.

Three shapes of solitude in Psythur, a publication of Ravens Quoth Press, both print and online.

Dame School in Stone Circle Review, online

Damaris also read her poem I wonder if I should be saving spiders at the joint online launch of the poetry pamphlet of Mandy Macdonald and poetry collection of Kevin Reid.

Wickerman – a humorous fantasy tale scrieved in Scots by Tracy Harvey has been published in the recent edition of Lallans magazine. Goan yersel, Tracy!

Seven club members (including Greta), involved in Litereight (a group of eight Ayrshire based writers) celebrated the group’s debut on Arran Sound Radio. Their jam-packed ‘Winter’ themed Litereight programme was transmitted several times over the Christmas week.

Janice Johnston read her amusing short story Christmas Cards.
