Imprint Writing Award Prize Giving – 28 November 2019

The entries are in and the judges have decided. It’s time to announce the winners of the 2019 Imprint Writing Awards, hosted by East Ayrshire Leisure. A special prize giving event will be held at the Dick Institute, Elmbank Avenue, Kilmarnock, KA1 3BT, on Thursday 27th November between 7pm and 9pm.

This year there was an Open theme across three categories – Story (Fiction or Narrative Non-Fiction), Poetry, Other (Play, Comic Strip or Letter). Entrants who live, work, or are based in Ayrshire, were free to write about any subject that inspired them. Shortlisted finalists have been invited to read, or present, their own work on the night itself.

Four members of Ayr Writers’ Club have been shortlisted for the 2019 Awards this year. They are –

Greta Yorke – Poetry

Kirsty Hammond – Story and Other

Maggie Bolton – Story

Jeanette Driver – Story

Ayr Writers’ Club wish them the very best of luck.

Winners will be announced on the night and prizes presented by Imprint patron, Zoe Strachan, alongside the judging panel from the University of Glasgow’s Edwin Morgan School of Creative Writing. The winner of each category will receive £120 and the runner up, £50.
