Writers all read don`t they? To be a successful fiction writer it is advisable to keep up with the trends and research what is being published.
The free books in your goody bag at the 40th anniversary dinner were kindly donated by newbooksmag (www.newbooksmag.com) As a long time subscriber it is a great day when every couple of months the magazine thuds through the letterbox.
Extracts from newly published or about to be published books, interviews with authors, publishing news and reviews written by subscribers to the magazine and many varied articles make up this fascinating magazine that ought to be better known.
With every issue, you can select one of half a dozen or so free books and, if you become a reviewer, you can choose as many books to review as you would wish. The freebies far outweigh the subscription.
It is many years since I discovered newbooksmag and since then I have been introduced to writers hitherto unknown and come to love them. Books that I would never have dreamt of buying have landed on the mat to be reviewed and surprised me by just how innovative and enjoyable they proved to be.
As a reader and a writer what better way can there be to keep up to date with what is `cool` in publishing.
