Scottish Book Trust are a national charity that has been bringing the benefits of reading and writing to everyone in Scotland for 21 years.
With a range of competition and award initiatives, they are particularly keen to encourage Scotland’s writers to move forward with their writing aspirations.
The annual Next Chapter Award exists to support an emerging writer over the age of 40 to find the time and space they need to write.
With –
- A £2,000 cash award, allowing them to focus on their work
- Nine months of mentoring from a writer or industry professional
- A two week retreat at Moniack Mhor, offering time, space and the freedom to create new work in idyllic surroundings
- PR, performance and presentation training
- The opportunity to showcase work to publishers and agents
