Scottish Asssociation of Writers’ Annual Writing Competitions

  • by

The Scottish Association of Writers (SAW) has recently announced this year’s annual writing competitions are up and running.

With online closing dates of Saturday 21st November for the longer beginning-of a-novel entries (7,000 – 15,000 words), the self-published book category, and Saturday 16th January for the shorter competition categories, there is no time to waste in putting together a package of entries.

Members of Ayr Writers’ Club are affiliated with SAW and eligible to enter all of the competitions they run. And, it just so happens, that a whopping seven out of the ten AWC 2020/21 Competitions running this year fit the word count, the theme, and the genre of SAW’s competitions. Your club competition entry can be sent on for repeat entry to SAW.

There is one caveat (but it is quite a pleasant one), entry to all of SAW’s Shorter Competitions can only be submitted by members who are planning to attend SAW’s Annual Writers’ Conference at the Hilton Hotel weekend in March (or people who are housebound, unable to leave home). Join the many AWC members who will be hoping to count Cumbernauld as one of their holiday destinations next year.

SAW’s Open Competitions are for all AWC members to submit to, whether they plan to attend the conference or not.

Have a good look through, there’s plenty of choice and opportunity –

GOOD LUCK!
