Successes December 2025

There’s a few interesting successes for you to read about from December 2025. First, Damaris West continues to do well with her poetry writing. This time, she has had a poem called, My Father, published in the Caduceus Journal. Well done.

Members Fiona McFadzean and Tracy Harvey read at the Burns Bachelor’s Club Performers Christmas Night at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Rab Wilson and his lovely wife Margaret were the highlight performers. I’m sure Fiona and Tracy also entertained the audience.

Great effort!

Finally, Carolyn O’Hara has been writing regularly over the past four years to help publicise her local re-cycling group in Prestwick.  This community group meets on the first Saturday of the month in Prestwick’s community Centre car park. Their goal is to recycle, reuse, and repurpose things which would otherwise end up in landfill. Thirty-five different items are collected by volunteers, from the public.

Carolyn’s role is to raise awareness of the group locally by writing a monthly column in PRESTWICK GOING OUT and occasionally the local press. She aims to raise awareness of the initiative, provide information about what happens to items collected by volunteers, and encourage awareness and participation.

Good job Carolyn, and it’s great to find out your writing skills are being used for such a good cause.
