WRITE IN AYR

AYR WRITERS may be fifty-three years old, but we think this may be a first!

On Wednesday 23rd August, we are hosting an event called WRITE IN AYR, at Ayr’s new arts venue, The Cutty-sark Centre, at the foot of Ayr High Street.

There will be the opportunity to buy books which members have had published, with around 25 titles, in a variety of genres, available. Members will be sharing excerpts and information about their route to publication.

For history enthusiasts, there will be two 30-minute, site-specific talks (11.30am & 2.30pm) by Carolyn O’Hara, based on her social history book, OCULEUS: The Musings of a Liberal Victorian in Ayr, about life in the town in 1898.

And, if your writing appetite has been whetted, you can also find out about the new programme starting in September, and how to join up.

Hope to see you there.
